Founder and Expert Fragrance Designer

As the daughter of an interior designer and builder, Doreen Bollhofer has always had a passion for beauty, and for fragrance. This dual devotion naturally drew her to the world of scent, where for over 30 years she has excelled in designing award-winning fragrances for numerous brands — from designers Ralph Lauren, Vera Wang and David Yurman, to celebrities Sarah Jessica Parker and Gwen Stefani, as well as for specialty retailer American Eagle Outfitters and cosmetic companies Avon, Coty and Elizabeth Arden.

She has an intrinsic knowledge of scent and its myriad nuances. It is this knowledge of how scent drives emotion, as well as her intuitive ability to create distinctive fragrances that tap into that deep emotion, that sets her apart.

As an expert in fragrance design and branding, Doreen has been called upon to share her expertise and passion as well as to explain the art and science of fragrance design.… “Bringing Back the Art of Perfumery”, and has appeared on NBC morning news where she shared her insights into the intricacies of designing a fragrance.

Doreen has refined her fragrance artistry through numerous years of training, including the Givaudan Perfumery school in Paris and has observed the harvest of some of the finest perfume ingredients in both France and Morocco. Her love for fragrance and its artistry continues to drive every fragrance creation.

With Scented Interiors By Design, Doreen takes her passion and knowledge of fragrance to the world of interior spaces.
